FAQ

How long does it take to commission a portrait?
Each portrait is a highly individualized process, so timing can vary. Depending on the volume of requests, you can expect up to a year wait for a commissioned piece.

How much do you charge for a commission?
My prices vary depending on the scope of the portrait. Please contact me for a custom quote.

Do you come to my home?
My process involves a few steps, the first of which is an on site photo session. This gives me a chance to get to know the subject better in a comfortable, relaxed environment, allowing me to capture a more authentic portrait. I do not charge for my time during the shoot, the client will only be responsible for travel expenses.

Can you work from photographs?
It is important that I get to know my subjects personally for the portrait, and so I generally do not work from photographs alone. I sometimes make exceptions, such as for a posthumous portrait, depending on the amount and quality of the resource material which I will decide upon a case by case basis.

Do you frame?
Portraits are finished unframed, allowing the client to choose their own framing based upon their preferences and intentions for the finished work.

Do you have time for a quick commissioned painting for a gift?
Occassionally my schedule will allow for smaller, spontaneous commissions. Feel free to contact me at any time to ask how my waiting list is doing.
